It's clear that T-eL is now very much a central part of learning and teaching at all levels, and will only become more so in the years to come. Etienne Wenger-Trayner is a key theorist in this space (as they say) and it is from him I borrow the title of this post.

Learning for a Small Planet
One of the things that has brought me back to blogging is that I recently submitted my reflective journal for a Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) in Technology-enhanced Learning (T-eL). This was, in part, supposed to capture my learning journey on the PGCert over the past year so don't tell anyone that I actually wrote (revised and edited) many of the blog posts in the month or so before I submitted it... If you're interested in T-eL, e-learning, or learning and teaching in general, please feel free to take a look.

Cough... splutter...!
That's the sound of a blog limping back to life. This blog has been in a bit of 'suspended animation'... a 'hiatus' if you will, for well over a year. It's about time I attempted to breathe a little life back into it. What I'm saying is, my intention is that I will start blogging again. Big deal, you say. (Big assumption that there is a 'you' that is reading this!)
Ah well, that's the aim anyway. Time will tell.

Back so soon?
And so another 5 months have just passed by, and not once have I been bothered to post anything on this blog! Oh dear. Perhaps this blogging lark wasn't such a good idea after all? That said, when I look back at some of the posts from the past few years, I do remember actually enjoying it from time to time.
So, here I go again. I'm sure I have lost the one or two followers that used to regularly take a look at these pages so we start afresh, but there's plenty in the archives to have a root through if you so wish! I'll be playing around with a few new looks over the coming weeks, so do feel free to post a comment or two with your feedback (be nice!).

Did you miss me?
Welcome, welcome, welcome (all three of you) to my new home on the web! It is now April and I realise that this is my first blog post of 2011... did you miss me? (You're allowed to lie at this point.)
I figured it was about time I returned to the blogosphere, with a new blog that combines "the diary of a spiritual junkie" blog with the "million dollar psychic" blog, which explains why you might have been forwarded from either of those.
So welcome back to old friends. And hello to new friends. Please feel free to have a browse around the new place. Just be sure to wipe your feet. We don't want to muddy the nice new carpets, do we?

A piece of cake
Wow, a full month since I last blogged! But it doesn't mean I've not being doing anything, just because I haven't got round to blogging about it. In fact, I've begun to wonder about our need to tell others about what we're up to through blogs, twitter and, my personal favourite, Facebook. Why do some of us have the need to update friends and strangers with our latest activities, even if it's just to say that we're feeling tired or that we're looking forward to eating a piece of cake?Anyway, Christmas and New Year were both great (thank you for asking). The big decision we made on returning to the homestead (i.e., the flat) was that we were going to move south. As is often the case with decisions like this, we had probably made the decision some time back, but now was the time for action. We gave our month's notice on the flat (i.e., the homestead), so we'll be upping sticks at the beginning of February. We haven't got a house to move to yet, but Rachel's parents have very kindly said we can stay with them until we get somewhere. So if anyone knows of a house for rent in the Oxfordshire region, you know what to do...
Anyway, I'm tired. Where's that cake?

Finally!
OK. So it only took me 6 months from setting up this blog to actually writing my first blog, but I finally made it!
Some of you I guess I know. Hello mum, dad, everyone who knows me, etc. (had to get that out of the way...) And hopefully, in time, there will be some of you who don't know me. In which case, hi... it's nice to meet you. I hope all of you get something out of these pages. If you do, please post a comment.
I guess some of may be wondering what it's all about. I know I am. And I don't just mean what this blog is going to be about (although that too!).
I'm referring to what's IT all about. Life. What are we here for? Is there a point to any of it? Well, that's what this blog is going to be about... at least in part. As with any other blog, I guess I'll also use it keep a record of life in general. So it might end up being a random collection of the thoughts by a man going through a mid-life crisis. Or it might end up being an important contribution to the ongoing discussion of the meaning of life! (I know what my money is on.)
Anyway, glad you could make it. Enjoy the ride.
